Embracing Strength as a Woman in Tech

March is Women’s Month — a time to recognize the achievements of women across all industries. It is also a moment to pause and reflect on journeys shaped by resilience, growth, and purpose, especially in fields where women are still underrepresented.

For me, this reflection comes from a career in technology as a Technical Support Agent, an Implementation Specialist, an entrepreneur behind the fragrance brand mòu-kuh-aeltá (Moukhaelta), and a woman balancing both professional and personal responsibilities, including family life. Each role comes with its own challenges, but together, they have shaped a deeper appreciation of strength, adaptability, and leadership.

My journey in tech began as a Technical Support Agent—the only woman on the team. In an environment filled with fast-paced technical discussions, system setups, and deployments, it was an intimidating start. But instead of stepping back, I chose to lean in, observe closely, and learn as much as I could. That decision quietly became the foundation of everything that followed.

At Servo IT Solutions, hands-on experience became the real classroom — from configuring systems and preparing deployments to troubleshooting issues and supporting live implementations. What started as learning the basics slowly grew into leading projects, coordinating system rollouts, and supporting clients as an Implementation Specialist.

In this role, success has never been just about installing systems. It is about understanding how technology fits into a client’s daily operations and helping people feel confident as they adjust to new workflows. Often, the real challenge is not the system itself, but the human side of change—guiding people as they unlearn old habits and gradually embrace new ways of working.

Working in technology has also taught me that strength is not always loud or visible. Sometimes it looks like quietly solving complex system issues, patiently guiding clients through unfamiliar platforms, or staying steady when implementations don’t go as planned. It is also found in listening deeply, translating technical processes into something understandable, and making sure systems truly work for the people who rely on them every day.

Women bring so many powerful strengths to the tech industry: empathy, collaboration, adaptability, and clear communication. In implementation work especially, these qualities matter just as much as technical knowledge—because success depends on both systems working well and people feeling supported through the change.

A big influence in this journey has been my mother, whose resilience, kindness, and quiet strength continue to guide me. She has always reminded me that leadership is not only about titles or expertise, but about character, compassion, and consistency in how you show up for others.

Over time, one lesson has stayed with me: success in technology—or in any field—is not about fitting into a stereotype. It is about embracing your strengths, continuing to learn, and showing up with confidence and purpose, even in spaces that feel unfamiliar.

For women who are exploring careers in technology or implementation, here are a few lessons I’ve learned along the way:
• Stay curious. Technology evolves quickly, and continuous learning helps you grow with it.
• Communicate clearly. Technical skills matter, but clarity is what helps people truly understand and adopt solutions.
• Be confident in your perspective. Diverse voices make technology better, stronger, and more innovative.
• Support other women. Encouragement and mentorship go a long way in building a more inclusive space for everyone.

This Women’s Month, I celebrate the courage of women who lead projects, solve problems, innovate, and inspire—whether in technology, business, or beyond. Each story is a reminder that strength shows up in many forms, and every woman has her own path to shape.

To all women pursuing their passions: continue learning, continue leading, and most of all, continue believing in the value you bring—because it truly matters.
